Purpose
The purpose of this page is to demonstrate that powerpc meets the architecture recertification criteria for lenny.
It can also be used as a source of information for future recertification pages of PowerPC in Debian.
If some of these requirements are irrelevant or implausible for the port, please add a waiver request indicating why and how this isn't a problem for the arch in bold.
Availability
The architecture is publicly available without NDAs via:
Developer machines
The following machines are available to developers:
bruckner.debian.org - maintained by DSA, connectivity via freenet.de.
Port maintainers
The Debian port is maintained by the following developers, who actively work on architecture specific issues:
?RogérioBrito
GerfriedFuchs, general issues
RogerLeigh, general issues
Users
The port is being actively used at the following sites:
Rick Thomas: about a dozen old Macs (some ?OldWorld, Some ?NewWorld) used as servers and personal workstations. University and home-hobbyist environment. A variety of models available for testing.
- Nathael Pajani: Used on any new powerpc board from ACTIS computers for kernel development and testing, and then used by some of their customers (I hope so) as I give them a basic debian rootfs.
?RogérioBrito: 3 machines (one ?OldWorld, one ?NewWorld, and one embedded KuroBox).
Popcon indicates 709 users of the architecture at 2008-08-31.
Installer
