Debian mips64el port

This page tracks the progress of the mips64el port (unofficial).

Archive

There is a repository at http://mips64el.debian.net/ which tracks unstable. Currently it has about 90% of the archive built.

That site also contains some QEMU images, the build logs for all packages, and some statistics about what is currently building and has been built (updated hourly).

ISA

Little endian, N64 ABI, MIPS64r1 ISA, and hardware floating-point.

Build Machines

The new archive has a number of buildds (7 at the time of writing) and is running the normal buildd software the main Debian archive uses (buildd, sbuild, wanna-build).

Installation

Run debootstrap on a Debian mipsel system, then configure bootloader and kernel.

Development

Development Team

  • YunQiang Su (syq)

  • Anibal Monsalve Salazar (anibal)
  • Aurelien Jarno (aurel32)
  • Aron Xu (aron)
  • James Cowgill (jcowgill)

There are significant contributions by people from open-source communities and companies. If you are a Debian developer interested in this port, please let us know.

Development machines

Sorry: this machine is not available now, as it is used for buildd node now. For porterbox, please have a wait.

A Loongson 3A machine (running Debian/mips64el) is available as porterbox and can be used by developers. If you want an account on this environment, feel free to ask YunQiang Su, by providing the following information:

  • Username
  • Public key
  • Quick comment specifying which area you are going to work
  • How long you will need the machine
