Pacchetto Debian
L' estensione .deb sta ad indicare un insieme di file gestiti dal sistema di gestione dei pacchetti Debian.
Perciò deb è l'abbreviazione di un pacchetto Debian, a differenza del pacchetto sorgente.
È possibile installare un pacchetto Debian scaricato con dpkg in un terminale:
dpkg -i *.deb (dove *.deb è il percorso e il nome del pacchetto scaricato).
Invece di farlo manualmente è fortemente consigliato l'uso di un gestore di pacchetti come aptitude o synaptic.
