Probabilmente la cosa assolutamente più importante è impostare la variabile EDITOR.
Quando usavo bash, impostavo .bashrc per contenere:
EDITOR=mcedit; export EDITOR
Ora con zsh, il mio file .zshrc è così:

Chi crea pacchetti Debian vorrà anche impostare DEBEMAIL e DEBFULLNAME .
