Purpose
The purpose of this page is to demonstrate that hppa meets the [http://release.debian.org/etch_arch_criteria.html architecture recertification criteria for etch].
Availability
The architecture is publicly available without NDAs via:
[http://www.hp.com/workstations/risc/index.html workstations] and

Developer machines
The following machines are available to developers:
paer.debian.org - maintained by DSA (Matt Taggart and dann frazier local admins), connectivity via HP.
Port maintainers
The Debian port is maintained by the following developers, who are familiar with arch-specific issues for this port
Users
The port is being actively used at the following sites:
??? Add more here ???
HP's Linux lab uses at least one production lab machine with >40 users
- popcon = 44 machines, assume 44 users
Popcon indicates 44 users of the architecture as at 2005-10-08. 44 individual machines + a machine at HP with 40 users on it > 50 needed for release qualification.
Installer
The installer is being maintained by Richard Hirst and it's currently working effectively. Successful installation reports are available at: bugs.debian.org
Upstream support
Upstream support is provided by:
- glibc: Actively hindered by glibc upstreeam, Carlos O'Donell is your man for glibc issues
- gcc: John David Anglin. Randolph Chung also very capable.
- g++: John David Anglin. Randolph Chung also very capable.
kernel: Matthew Wilcox, Grant Grundler, Kyle ?McMartin, Thibaut Varene, others
- boot loader: Paul Bame

Archive coverage and Autobuilder support
- There is more than enough hardware floating around to bring in additional build daemons as necessary. The current buildd is able to cope just fine though, and isn't even using both cpus!
Both etch and sarge are >98% built
The port is currently above 97% up to date according to [http://buildd.debian.org/stats/graph2-week.png the buildd stats] (95% cut off)
The port has currently built over 95% of the archive according to [http://buildd.debian.org/stats/graph-week.png the buildd stats] (90% cut off)
Archive cleanliness
The port builds from unmodified Debian source.
Autobuilders
The following machines run buildds for the port:
sarti.debian.org - connectivity via Black Cat Networks, buildd logs checked by LaMont Jones, admined by DSA (Jonathan ?McDowell is local admin)
