Jabber

How to get help on Jabber

The sames rules apply to Jabber, IRC and mailing list. Please refer to "[:GettingHelpOnIrc:On getting help with IRC]" wiki page for instance.

Here is a quick summary of the main points :

  • Don't ask to ask, just ask :)

  • Write properly respecting your own language, your not on your cell phone or with your m$n buddies.

  • Try to give us relevant informations about your problem :?BR“<something> is not working, what should I do?” is not for instance.?BRBut pay attention not to flood the chat room with endless log or configuration files, use [http://paste.debian.net/ paste.debian.net]

  • Be polite and patient, these people are all volunteers, this is not their paid job to answer you.

  • Don't be lazy, read the f****** documentation.

You may read that famous how-to about “[http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html How to ask question the smart way]”.
