Installation
With Kernel 2.6+ your USB keys are automatically mountable. There is usually no need to install any driver. Simply insert your USB key. Wait a few seconds. It will automatically mount and open.

In the Linux FileSystem is generally */dev/sda* if you do not have SCSI or serial-ATA drive
Format
Using Debian Jessie 8 or Wheezy 7
There are many options to choose from to format your USB keys. The main two options are Disk Utility or Terminal:
Disk Utility uses a graphical interface and is easier to use. Disk Utility is also known as gnome-disk-utility.
Terminal is a command lines
To open Disk Utility using your Debian dashboard search for Disk Utility. To format your USB key follow the instructions within its graphical user interface.
