I installed Debian on the CompaqEvoN410c that I use for work. I found a page of helpful hints (thanks for the pointer, Micah), and Eric and the rest of the Hacking Society were helpful.

That was 2003. In 2004 I started running Debian unstable on my HP zx2000 ia64 workstation. I switched to ?UbuntuLinux on my Compaq N410c. I also installed Ubuntu on an old HP 8160 Pavilion at home. This year (2006) I mothballed the 8160 and am trying to get graphics working with Ubuntu Breezy on my HP nc6230. (I need to read about it.)

I bought a Compaq V2000Z. It has a Radeon Xpress 200M graphics card. I'm hoping performance is good enough to use xgl. (I saw the eye candy first demo'd with the SUSE 10 desktop. Can't wait to try out xgl with Ubuntu.)
