Introduction: Some context

What do people complain about in Finland? Well, the Helsinki Choir of Complaints will sing it to you. [http://www.ykon.org/kochta-kalleinen/complaintschoir.html The Helsinki Choir of Complaints] excellent video can be seen [http://www.ykon.org/kochta-kalleinen/downloads/cc_hel.mov here]. Watch the video before you do anything else. Specially if you attended DebConf5 in Helsinki.

Finnish artists [http://www.ykon.org/tellervo/ Tellervo Kalleinen] and [http://home.arcor.de/oooooo/ Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen] collected the pet peeves and angst-ridden pleas of people in Helsinki and then composed this choral work around the list of complaints. While many of the complaints are universal to western urban life, many of the complaints dive deep to [http://wiki.debian.org/HugAFinn the heart of the Finnish soul]. But all the complaints end with the timeless refrain of all humanity, It's Not Fair.

The Choir of Complaints invites people to complain as much as they want and to sing their complaints out loud together with fellow complainers.

TheDebianChoirOfComplaints

What do people complain about in Debian? Well, hopefully, the Debian Choir of Complaints will sing it to you in Edinburgh during DebConf7. Some of us can sing, some of us can play the piano, we have a great [http://wiki.debian.org/DebConf5VideoLearnings Video Team], and all of us can loudly complain.

We want your complaints!

Write you complaints here, even if you are not attending DebConf7, even if you don't want to sing, even if they are not strictly related to Debian:

15000 packages are too many to find the good ones and etch wont fit on two DVDs. The release cycles are too long (or to slow). NM takes too long. There is no polygen grammar for complaints ([http://distanz.ch/debian/polygen-debian/complaints.grm fixed]). I cant keep up with debian email. The RC bug count is too high. Flamewars happen too often. Planet gets flooded all the time and Evan never chooses a proper subject. Nobody cares about stable, everybody runs experimental. The GDFL causes too much work. The social contract is always changed. nobody understands the finnish inquisition. elmo is always busy and aba speaks too fast. #debian-women consists mostly of men. transitions are never finished. too many packages have lintian bugs.

The BTS is too slow. There are too many GRs going on right now. Too many people listed on ?DebConf7/NoJune. The python transition is too difficult to understand. h01ger has too many complaints, he is from Hamburg. Ubuntu gets all the credit for our hard work. m68k wont be released with etch. Vancouver has awful sushi. Ganneff never hugs me. Good developers go MIA. Clint's posts are impossible to understand. udev is always broken. The extremadura people never submit patches back to debian. Nobody understands what firmware really is. Sam Hocevars porn page is disappointing. translations are never uptodate. the mozilla foundation is on crack but our own logo is also non-free. there is no cabal. java is still in non-free and mplayer doesnt make it through NEW. mark never invited me in his plane. the debian uk society is getting too rich. booting takes forever. I have too many irc windows. debian gnu/hurd doesnt work. apt is unmaintained upstream. cdbs is evil. manoj and jeroen are impossible to pronounce. aj won't withdraw dunc tank.

There are no DDs anywhere near the Philippines. We have a broken government. I still have no college degree. My laptop's MMC card reader doesn't work under GNU/Linux. Too many people complain of Emacs and Vi. The draft FOSS bill sucks. NM is a bit difficult. IRC meetings are extra difficult. My mailbox is full of spam. Debian is not-so-loved by Pinoy GNU/Linux newbies. I've yet to fix my sid chroots on my laptop. Packages still take a long time to build.
