Task description
While we're still using dpkg and apt in Debian (and we have no intention to change that), it is still useful to maintain these packages. For example, yum can be used as a debootstrap replacement to create a CentOS or Fedora chroot from within a Debian system. Createrepo can be used to maintain a yum repository from a Debian machine. Etc.
Here's the list of packages which are going to be team maintained from the start:
- createrepo
- deltarpm
- rpm
- rpmlint
- yum
- yum-metadata-parser
- yum-utils

Packaging rules
We don't intend to enforce strong packaging rules. Just use git-buildpackage please, so that we have a common ground to work on, and accept that anyone in the team can touch "your" package and upload.
