How to get involved

You are considering to join the Debian Perl Group or were just added to the group on Salsa? Then our Welcome page (english, espaƱol) should help you with your decision and your first steps.

Here's the short version for those only interested in the technical details:

A good way to get involved is to introduce yourself on the mailing list. A simple email about yourself saying what your goals are, how you might like to contribute, and what you would like to get from the group is the standard introduction protocol. It does not have to be formal of course. Here is an example: example introduction email

Technically speaking you need to have an account (possibly after registering one) at salsa.debian.org and include your salsa username in the introductory mail to <debian-perl AT lists DOT debian DOT org>; one of the project admins will add you to the group.

After that it is simply a matter of finding modules or packages that you use or are interested in. All packaging is now done using git, so follow the guide for git (link above) and you are off and running!

Dump your lib*-perl package here

If you don't have time even for this, just send a signed mail to the debian-perl mailing list and list the packages you want us to take over.
