Task description
The goal of the team is to provide high quality packages of the whole GNOME desktop environment for Debian.
Specific tasks/goals
- Help us convert remaining modules from cdbs to dh
Port upstream configure.ac away from deprecated gnome-common macros
Port applications away from deprecated vte (to vte3) (deprecated vte will be targeted for removal during Buster development window)
DONE: Port applications away from gksu (Running the entire GUI application is not recommended! Better to have a split out privileged helper that gains privileges via policykit)
Port applications away from deprecated gnomecanvas (see goocanvas, etc.)
Port an application using any deprecated library (this list includes several of the above links)
Get involved in general
Help us with bug triage. Have a look at the QA page, find a package with a lot of bugs, and sort them out.
Package new versions or fix bugs, and commit these into our Subversion repository.
We have some challenging ideas that require coding or integrating complex modifications on GNOME software. Please come discuss on IRC if you feel like implementing something.
