Kit list per talk room

Audio

2x Headset Radio Mic
2x Handheld Radio Mic (omnidirectional, because people hold them the wrong way)
2x Mic Stands (Good for getting people to queue up to ask questions - use with handheld mics)
4x 2m XLR cable (mic receiver to snake)

• Radio Mics need to be licence free in all 3 ITU regions
• We need to be able to change frequency to avoid interference with other users

Tasks:

1. Identify suitable radio mic systems (farm off to QAV)
2. Possible Open Hardware project?

2x Ambient Mic (pick up audience chatter / shout out questions)
2x Microphone stand (for ambient mics)
2x 20m XLR cable (to run from ambient mic to desk)

1x 5m 3.5mm stereo Jack to 2x 1/4" mono jacks (PC Audio to DI Box)
1x stereo DI box (2x 1/4" socket In to 2x XLR-M) active / phantom powered (PC audio)
2x 2m XLR cable (DI to snake)

1x 25m Mic 'snake' reel - 6 in 2 out

1x 8 channel mixing desk

• Requires minimum 8 XLR input channels
• Requires main and aux outputs (I am going to assume XLR for both of these - for this shopping list)
• main XLR goes to Main Camera
• Aux Send goes to house PA (preferably as a slide fader)

2x 5m XLR cable mixing desk to Main camera
2x 20m XLR cable mixing desk to PA (potentially via snake)

1x Balanced to unbalanced stereo balun transformer (XLR-F in to 1/4" Socket Out)
2x 2m 1/4" Mono Jack to Jack
1x 2m 1/4" Mono Jack to stereo 3.5mm jack
1x 2m 1/4" Mono Jack to RCA phono plug

• 4U Rack Case NOT to be shipped for miniconf (local miniconf team can supply this!) We ship this as a single case for debconf (n xTalkrooms + 1)

• Video Master PC is used during debconf only. It is responsible for:
• local backup
• local ICEcast Master
• local vypar
• Gate way for Talk rooms (i.e. 2 x NICs)
• Packet Switch
