Background: I am fanatic in code quality, I currently work in the maintenance and evolution of the first static analysis tool free source code Brazilian (http://analizo.org/). I have knowledge in Java, C + +, Perl and Shell script (a bit). And I'm an active user of Debian and advocate of free software. I am practitioner of Agile software development.
Project title: Debian Continuous Integration
Project details: This project aims to increase the quality of the packages present in Debian, using the debci to assist. The work consist in identify the packages that are failing in the test suite debci (ci.debian.net) and try to get the packages to pass in the test suite. With it, you can speculate an increase in quality for the packages in the Debian repository (increase the percentage of packages that pass in debci test suit).
Benefits to Debian: Increase the quality of the packages present in Debian repository, with debci assistance.
Deliverables: Patches submissions for multiple packages
- 1 - Investigate how debci test suite work
- 2 - Identify the fail packages
- 3 - Prioritize packages for corrections
- 4 - Work on correction of packages (submit patches)
- 5 - Analyze and document result
For topics 1,2,3 and 5 will require about a week, and about five to six weeks to topic 4 (project focus). The work starts immediately when the proposal is accepted and will end in June end, but if necessary, will be extended to the extent necessary to achieve the objectives that will be raised at the beginning of the project (topic 3).
Exams and other commitments: Finals in May end.

Why Debian?: It is a project quite widespread within the free software community, in addition to being the OS of my choice. Contributing to Debian I'll be getting a great technical knowledge, besides being a unique opportunity to meet great professionals and indulge once for the free software community. This is the best OS in my opinion!
