Project title : Debian Android Application
Synopsis: Debian Developers utilize many online resources on a daily basis in order to properly maintain their packages. Some of these tools include the PTS, BTS, and UDD. It would be nice to have all of this information readily available on a phone/tablet via an android application
Possible feature:
- I could translate the app to Spanish
Benefits to Debian: Nowadays, more than ever, we use the technology every day, above all we use our smartphones. As developers it is a good idea to have all under control just with a tap of our fingers.
Deliverables: I will keep track of the app development, writing articles in my blog.
Project schedule:
- Start designing the app UI and recognize what API calls we are going to need.
- Design database for the app in order to avoid unnecessary calls to the API.
- Implement the functionallity of the app.
- Measure the battery consumption in order to make it as small as possible and do tests.
- Deploy the app on play Store.
Exams and other commitments: No, I have no exams nor vacations plans.
Why Debian?: I love the open source community, and I am using Debian for 6 years now. I've always wanted to participate in a community and learn how they works in group.
- Are you applying for other projects in SoC? : No.
