I'm a GNU/Linux and Debian user since 2004.

I have a PhD in archaeology and I work for the Ministry of Culture of Italy (MiBAC).

I started http://www.iosa.it in 2004 to promote the use and development of free software in archaeology. In 2007 I started a wiki about quantitative methods for archaeological research, all using free software tools like GRASS and R. I have been one of the organizers of ArcheoFOSS, a conference for free software and open data enthusiasts in the field of archaeology and cultural heritage, from 2007 to 2019.

I was a member of the Italian Linux Society and of the GFOSS.it association, the Italian OSGeo local chapter.

My personal website is https://steko.iosa.it/
