Task description
Provide release-notes for :
Todo List
Tag current stable release-notes with the release name, and work on trunk)
Update the build script on www-master, to use lenny's new SVN location
Review current release-notes and remove content specific to current stable
Get package maintainers to provide accurate NEWS file
Get news items from non-packages team (porting, debian-installer, Debian Live, QA, mirrors, FTPmasters..)
Use as an input the delta between lenny and squeeze NEWS files, partially done at http://lintian.debian.org/~spaillard/
Follow RC bugs opened in squeeze: document, workarounds (using bts affect ?BugNumber release-notes)
Provide a popcon-sorted list of packages added, removed between Lenny and Squeeze http://www.klabs.be/~fpiat/linux/comp-dist2/squeeze/
Changes in virtualization support and upgrade path: XEN, openVZ, etc.
Check ReleaseGoals achievement and document them
Get much feedback on upgrade issues prior to the release: prepare a upgrade to testing path using qemu or vmware to test the update, with <debian-testing DOT lists AT debian DOT org>
Process user feedback from http://bugs.debian.org/upgrade-reports http://bugs.debian.org/installation-reports : make it a bug against a specific package and/or release-notes
Make sure the coverage of the release-notes todolist is full
Note: those release notes are built many times a day on www-master, using a cronjob. The build logs are available from http://www-master.debian.org/build-logs/webwml/release-notes.log (and *.log.*)
