Debian becomes interesting for specialized users with different interests.  To support these different users the Custom Debian Distributions (see [[CustomDebian]]) effort was started.

This led also to a new [[http://people.debian.org/~tille/cdd/ch-todo.en.html#s-new_ways_of_distribution|suggestions for releases]] as Custom Debian Distributions in addition to the main Debian distribution.
