Core packages in Debian
Debian provides precompiled binary packages for the R programming environment, including software from CRAN and Bioconductor, across all actively supported releases. Many of these R-related packages are maintained by a dedicated R packaging team.
External package archives
All of CRAN and BioConductor have been built for i386 and amd64 for both stable and unstable using the cran2deb effort https://r-forge.r-project.org/projects/cran2deb/.
Backports of the latest versions to past releases of Debian and the the current and past releases of Ubuntu are available from
