Volunteers for PowerPC

Please list yourself on this page in alphabetic order. Its goal is to advertise the help that one can get from the active readers of the debian-powerpc mailing list.

  • Who? You! Please give your name and possibly a link to a way to contact you easily.

  • What? List what you think that you can do when you are not particularly busy with other tasks.

  • Term? Some persons know they will not be available for long, other have spare time on a regular basis, and some have a long term passion for the architecture. Let us simply chose short, mid or long term. Of course, we have our own lives and this is not a contract.

  • Year? With time, this page will get obsolete entries. By indicating the year of last modification, it will be obvious if the information is still trustable.

I have a number of diferent PowerMac machines, all running Debian -- ranging from ?OldWorld beige G3s, ?NewWorld B&W G3s and various G4s thru a Dual processor G5, I can provide testing for the installer and for application packages under various conditions. I'm also willing to give short-term ssh logins to friendly DDs and others who lack the requisite hardware to test, debug or develop useful stuff. Also, I'm a native English speaker and I have a clear and readable writing style. I can help proof-read or edit documentation.

I can take care of PowerPC on the following PowerPC flavors: OldWorld (PowerMac 9500/180MP), ?NewWorld (iBook G3 600MHz), and ?KuroBoxes HD and HG (200MHz and 266MHz Freescale-based embedded boxes, respectively). All these use different boot methods and have their peculiarities which should be addressed. I have contributed to the kernel with some patches and comments and I am willing to write documentation on the procedures taken.
