Clamav-Data Packages for Debian

User Information

Clamav-Data ist a Debian package which contains a fixed set of Clamav Virus Databases. It is meant to be used in situations where http access is not readily available and thus freshclam cannot be used.

Due to the Debian release policy, a clamav-data package found in any Debian distribution (be it unstable, testing or stable) is likely to be outdated.

To remedy this, clamav-data is also in debian-volatile, and will be updated multiple times a day in the volatile archive. Copies of the volatile version are also placed on people.debian.org, since the clamav-data package description in sarge points to that location.

Please note that the packages in debian-volatile and on people.debian.org are auto-generated, and not reviewed by a human before they are put up for download. The building scripts verify that the packages install on sarge, etch and sid and clamav is able to detect eicar.com and the clamav-testfiles when the databases from the package are loaded, but these tests might fail. Use clamav-data at your own risk.
