Current target

For the agent, we're currently targeting the 8.x series stable. We'll upgrade to 9.x once the branch is out of beta.

For the server, the 8.x branch still depends on Jetty10 which is EOL upstream and not packaged. The puppetserver package worked around this by patching the requirement to Jetty9, which is an ancient EOL version of Jetty. Although it's still beta, the 9.x branch introduces Jetty12 support which is packaged in Debian and supported upstream. Therefore it makes more sense to target the latter and hope that a stable release is made before the next freeze.

Current status

The openvox agent is uploaded and currently going through NEW.

Dependencies

The server needs some package updates. I haven't checked if the versions are strictly required, but it's always nice to be closer to what upstream uses, so let's upgrade what we can. Let's first update packages in Experimental before re-uploading them all to unstable once we're done with all of them.
