One way of using OpenRISC is to take the OpenRISC source code and synthesize it to an [[FPGA]]. Using this setup you can modify the CPU as well as the software running on it. These pages primarily target the Linux on OpenRISC use-case and aim to help you get up to speed as quickly as possible. Feedback on these pages and questions not answered here should be directed to the mailing list or vented on #openrisc at freenode. == Current Status == Last updated: 2016-02-11 * 2016-02-11: openrisc.debian.net shut down, project officially declared dead due to copyright issues. * 2016-02-08: The same situation as explained in the blog post entry persists. The port is currently on stand-by, due to the work to make GCC to emit code for this architecture not being upstreamed, due to copyright assignment issues, and not kept completely up-to-date with the most recent releases, so maintaining a patch of the compiler in Debian is out of question. The upstream project didn't see much development in the last few years, and it doesn't look like the situation is going to change in the next months.
