Abstract/Summary
This is an opinion paper arguing that Debian has numerous unique advantages for being the default platform for research software in neuroscience. It uses the NeuroDebian effort as an example to show how it is possible to create a sustainable research software platform by adopting proven practices of the FOSS movement.
