There are lots of places Debian associates people to a name. This is an attempt to track those and provide information on how to change your name in various Debian Systems

Debian systems that use names

nm.debian.org

nm.debian.org is "the place to apply for Debian membership, and to manage one's status in the project." It also hosts the official list of project members.

Changing your name on nm.d.o is simple: login with Salsa or a certificate, go to the "personal page" menu under the dropdown in the upper right corner, select the blue "edit personal information" button, and enter your new name!

salsa.debian.org

Salsa is Debian's "collaborative development server" running GitLab. Changing your name in salsa is also quite easy: visit your ?https://salsa.debian.org/-/profile and update your name.

Packages you Maintain

If you maintain packages, you may with to update your Uploaders: and Maintainer: lines in d/control.

LDAP / db.debian.org

DSA, who maintain LDAP, require a signed message from the Debian Account Managers to update your name on db.debian.org. Write to <da-manager@debian.org> to request this.

Debian Wiki

The Debian wiki makes it fairly easy to update your name: login then visit the ?https://wiki.debian.org/?action=userprefs&sub=prefs page to update your name. Then, visit the page for your old name (in the format ?FirstnameLastname) and select "Rename Page" from the "More Actions:" dropdown on the right of the page. Check the "Create redirect for renamed page?" if you'd like that.

Keyring

In my (<taowa>'s) personal experience, keyring seems to accept new UIDs submitted to the keyserver. On replacement of a key you may want to have a UID that matches the one in LDAP, but I'm currently checking with keyring-maint.

contributors.debian.org

Your name in contributors.d.o can be updated by signing in with Salsa, visiting "Personal Page" under the menu on the upper-right, then scrolling to the bottom to update "Full name". You may also want to associate fingerprints and email addresses here so that you show up as one single person under your new name.
