Linda was a [great] tool similar to lintian, written by Steve Kowalik. It was removed from the archive on March 2008 (bug 469039), thus it is not available in Lenny and later.
You should use lintian instead, since it includes most, if not all, the checks that linda used to perform.
The package description was :
Debian package checker, not unlike lintian
Linda is a Debian package checker, much like lintian, that runs some rudimentary checks over source and binary packages to see if they comply to Policy.
Linda has a greater featureset than Lintian, providing (among other things) English descriptions, fully translatable strings, and can print using different formats.
Linda's first release was linda-0.0.1 on Mon, 25 Mar 2002. The last release was linda-0.3.26 on Sat, 16 Jun 2007.
