What architecture are supported?

Only i386 and amd64.

Additionally, a few packages will not be supported in the LTS version of the release, primarily some web-based applications which cannot be supported for the additional timeframe. The tool check-support-status from the package debian-security-support helps to detect such unsupported packages.

What about architectures other than i386/amd64?

Those architectures are currently not supported by the Debian LTS team. If you have computers using those architectures you should always use the latest stable release of Debian.

The LTS team supports architectures that provide value to classes of users interested in LTS support. Currently this means that the architecture must have significant server deployments or must be used in big (desktop) deployments.

arm* architectures have been evaluated for wheezy: armel is not used heavily in server context and big armhf deployments are new enough that they are not using wheezy yet. armhf/arm64 is likely to be of interest for Jessie LTS however.

What is the time frame for Squeeze LTS?

LTS starts at the end of may 2014, after the End of Life of squeeze (end of being oldstable). LTS support ends on 19th of february 2016. See DebianSqueeze#Debian/Squeeze_Life_cycle for more details.

Who will provide updates for LTS?

The release will not be handled by the Debian security team, but by a separate group of volunteers and companies interested in making it a success (with some overlap in people involved). Companies using Debian who are interested in aiding this effort should contact the mailing list debian-lts.

Where can bugs be reported?

Please report bugs that you found in the packages to the debian-lts mailing list. The bar for severity will be raised (minor issues will no longer be fixed).

Will there be wheezy-lts?

Yes.

Debian 7 “Wheezy” from February 2016 to May 2018

What are the reasons for not using security.debian.org for the LTS security updates?

Who fixes security issues with packages in squeeze-backports?

Backports isn't LTS-land. The backporter is responsible in updating his backport if needed [1]. Security issues in squeeze-backports are handled the very same way they were handled when squeeze was stable and supported directly. (Source)

I am getting "Install these packages without verification [y/N]" although worked before etc.

Try disabling in apt/apt-get update/re-enabling in apt/apt-get update in your APT configuration (Source)

Can unattended upgrades be used on LTS after it stops being oldstable?

UnattendedUpgrades should work, but you should make sure, that all your installed packages are supported.
