The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware.

Important Note

The RC1 installer with non-free firmware provides the non-free iwlwifi driver for the intel wireless card.

The installer hangs when requesting IPv6 address from DHCP server. See Bug #768188 for work around.

Configuration

After reading the Multi HDD/SSD article, I partitioned the 1TB HDD / 16GB SSD as follows:

Power Management

Suspend to ram works out of the box. Have not tried hibernate

WiFi

Wifi worked out of the box with non-free firmware netinstall debian image

Keyboard

The backslash-pipe key was mapped to greater-than/less-than keys. To fix this, edit /usr/share/X11/xkb/keycodes/evdev and change <BKSL>=51 to <BKSL>=94

Graphics

The free nouveau works out of the box. To use the NVIDIA ?GeForce GPU, install the proprietary Nvidia driver and bumblebee. Remove /etc/X11/xorg.conf and do not run nvidia-xconfig
