DebianOn is an effort to document how to install, configure and use Debian on some specific hardware. Therefore potential buyers would know if that hardware is supported and owners would know how get the best out of that hardware. The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware. If you need help to get Debian running on your hardware, please have a look at our user support channels where you may find specific channels (mailing list, IRC channel) dedicated to certain types of hardware. |

Important Notes
Please refer https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Thinkpad/X1%20Carbon%204thGen%20PCIe_SSD/jessie for Bios Settings and installation notes.
It seems that you also need to deactivate TPM (http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Embedded_Security_Subsystem) in Bios Settings to install grub in UEFI
There is currently an issue with returning from suspend sometimes forcing the fans to full speed (until another suspend/resume or restart). According to the ArchWiki page for this laptop the issue is fixed since kernel version 4.12.4-1 which is already available in Debian.
Also, obviously, you must disable SecureBoot in BIOS to boot from a USB install media.
