DebianOn is an effort to document how to install, configure and use Debian on some specific hardware. Therefore potential buyers would know if that hardware is supported and owners would know how get the best out of that hardware.

The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware.

If you need help to get Debian running on your hardware, please have a look at our user support channels where you may find specific channels (mailing list, IRC channel) dedicated to certain types of hardware.

Firmware to use

Mouse

Trackpoint and Touchpad work out of the box, but user experience is much better with libinput than synaptics driver. Seems like synaptics is prefered if both are installed. Uninstalling 'xserver-xorg-input-synaptics' worked for me.

Experienced problems with synaptics input driver: cursor jumps to lower left edge when scrolling and clicking, clicks are not recognized, simulated middle mouse button (by pressing both buttons at once) didn't work at all. All these seem to be non-issues with libinput driver. Yay!

Keyboard

Set up keyboard shortcuts for sound

Go to Configuration / Keyboard / Application shortcuts / Add :
amixer set Master 5%+ --> (Volume Up)
amixer set Master 5%- --> (Volume Down)
amixer set Master toggle --> (Mute/Unmute)
