DebianOn is an effort to document how to install, configure and use Debian on some specific hardware. Therefore potential buyers would know if that hardware is supported and owners would know how get the best out of that hardware.

The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware.

If you need help to get Debian running on your hardware, please have a look at our user support channels where you may find specific channels (mailing list, IRC channel) dedicated to certain types of hardware.

Important Note

Configuration

Display

Intel Arrandale integrated chipset. Nothing to do. Work out of the box with xserver-xorg-video-intel (2:2.15.0-3). No xorg.conf needed.

Audio

Intel HD Audio. Nothing to do as well. Work out of the box. Supports sound through HDMI.

Mouse

Works out of the box. See generic instructions about InstallingDebianOn/Thinkpad/Trackpoint.

Power Management

Use of pm-utils. Suspend to RAM works fine. If resume takes a long time, ensure that you have firmware-realtek. This should be fixed in 2.6.39. If X server is not accelerated any more on resume, just run powertop to fix this.

Suspend to disk freeze on resume. Tested with 2.6.38.

WiFi

Works out of the box if you install firmware-iwlwifi package.
