DebianOn is an effort to document how to install, configure and use Debian on some specific hardware. Therefore potential buyers would know if that hardware is supported and owners would know how get the best out of that hardware.

The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware.

If you need help to get Debian running on your hardware, please have a look at our user support channels where you may find specific channels (mailing list, IRC channel) dedicated to certain types of hardware.

{i} = Configuration Required; X-( = Only works with a non-free driver and or firmware

Important Note

{X} Needs Jessie for the Intel graphics to work properly

{X} Needs kernel 3.12 (well better than 3.2 anyway) for Ethernet and wireless to work - no networking with wheezy!

{X} needs ?Bumbleblebee for 3D/OpenGL to work well.

Configuration

Display

01:00.0 3D controller [0302]: NVIDIA Corporation GK106M [GeForce GTX 760M] [10de:11e3] (rev ff)
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0416] (rev 06)

Video card: Intel + NVIDIA GTX 760M

Screen size: 14", 1920x1080

follow the Bumblebee install guide, mostly seems to work.

The display has the wrong DPI. Interestingly with one of the other drivers (vesa?) the DPI was right.

When playing around with wheezy back light changing did work, but doesn't work with Jessie. Not yet tried diagnosing it.

Audio

Audio play back works. Not tested external ports, recording, or audio over hdmi yet.

Mouse

Trackpad works, double finger scrolling works, not tested anything else.

Power Management

WiFi
