DebianOn is an effort to document how to install, configure and use Debian on some specific hardware. Therefore potential buyers would know if that hardware is supported and owners would know how get the best out of that hardware.

The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware.

If you need help to get Debian running on your hardware, please have a look at our user support channels where you may find specific channels (mailing list, IRC channel) dedicated to certain types of hardware.

Audio

Audio device: Intel Corporation Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio (rev 21) Subsystem: Lenovo Sunrise Point-LP HD Audio

To disable the annoying "system beeps"

echo "blacklist pcspkr" > etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

External microphone and headphones work out of the box. Speakers work out of the box but internal inverted microphone volume is very low.

Workaround 1

The volume of the microphone can be raised by configuring different volume levels for the left and right channels:

pactl set-source-volume 1 0% 100%

Workaround 2

Remap the stereo input to a mono input.

  • Get the input name

pacmd list-sources | grep 'name:.*input'

# for example
# alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1f.3.analog-stereo
  • Add the following lines to "/etc/pulse/default.pa"

load-module module-remap-source source_name=record_mono master=<INPUT_NAME> master_channel_map=front-left channel_map=mono
set-default-source record_mono

# for example
# load-module module-remap-source source_name=record_mono master=alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1f.3.analog-stereo master_channel_map=front-left channel_map=mono
# set-default-source record_mono

Mouse

The touchpad works out of the box.
