DebianOn is an effort to document how to install, configure and use Debian on some specific hardware. Therefore potential buyers would know if that hardware is supported and owners would know how get the best out of that hardware.

The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware.

If you need help to get Debian running on your hardware, please have a look at our user support channels where you may find specific channels (mailing list, IRC channel) dedicated to certain types of hardware.

Models covered
LENOVO Ideapad S340 15API

Successfully fresh installed Debian 10.7 (buster) on a S340 15API (15" screen) with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD. I had to use non-free firmware to get it works (Xorg, wifi). Microsoft Windows was installed on the system, I removed it (install over it). I had to disable BIOS secure and fast boot, enable and use Legacy support. Enjoy ;)

Important Note

Installation on Legacy BIOS is working, use F2 key on startup to enter BIOS menu. Disable Fast and Secure boot, use Legacy support and set Legacy support first. Adjust other options if needed like AMD secure mode. Use F12 on startup to enter boot menu.

The installer may ask you to load firmware for wifi, see the next Wifi section.
