Status report
i installed Sid AMD64 using netinstall in parallel to ms(tm) vista (that came with the laptop)
- (resized the ntfs partition with gparted before the install using SystemRescueCD livecd)
xorg's nv works fine BUT to get full 3D with latest KDE 4.1.96 i used [javascript:void(0);/*1232821278878*/ Nvidia's latest proprietary drivers] which works just fine !!!
to get the wireless i had to use [javascript:void(0);/*1232821473088*/ Broadcom's proprietary wl kernel module] (compiled from sources)
to make the sound work i changed the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base and added this line at the end:
options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dig enable_msi=1 single_cmd=1
i still have some Alsa (1.0.16 , 2.6.26-1-amd64) [javascript:void(0);/*1232822609013*/ issues] with sound: i can either use the Headset (headphone) or the internal (Front channel) but not both
HP Webcam (Feiya) seems to work out of the box with Flash Player 10 64bit beta and Ekiga 2 (after installing v4l2 : libpt2.4.2-plugin-v4l2)
some configuration files excerpts
xorgs xorg.conf (nvidia section):
'Section "Device"

and have this command issue on system startup too:
to enable some multimedia keys:
xmodmap -e "keycode 115 = Meta_L"
xmodmap -e "keycode 174 = XF86AudioLowerVolume"
xmodmap -e "keycode 176 = XF86AudioRaiseVolume"
xmodmap -e "keycode 160 = XF86AudioMute"
to be continued (really!)
