DebianOn is an effort to document how to install, configure and use Debian on some specific hardware. Therefore potential buyers would know if that hardware is supported and owners would know how get the best out of that hardware. The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware. If you need help to get Debian running on your hardware, please have a look at our user support channels where you may find specific channels (mailing list, IRC channel) dedicated to certain types of hardware. |

Important Note
Debian bullseye was installed
the NVMe system disk will only get detected from linux 5.5 on upwards - see (https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/ec11e5c213cc20cac5e8310728b06793448b9f6d), which means that you have to install from a Debian bullseye install medium, because they are using a 5.10 kernel (at the time of writing)
the installer fails at installing grub. See https://bugs.debian.org/986893 for workaround.
the Laptop is very light, very silent and seems to have very long battery capacity
the screen is extremely glossy
the laptop doesn't seem to be very serviceable, since there are no visible screws
touchpad doesn't seem to have a "middle" button
"<" and ">" are absurdely only reachable via Fn key on the swissgerman layout keyboard
Configuration
Display
Intel ?TigerLake GT2 / Iris Xe Graphics with a 17.3" touchscreen display
- everything works out of the box including the touchscreen
Audio
Intel ?TigerLake-LP Smart Sound Technology Audio Controller
works out of the box, but even though there is a "BANG & OLUFSEN" logo on the laptop, the sound is absolutely terrible. AFAI can see it does not output frequencies below 500Hz
Mouse
- Touchpad works out of the box, but doesn't seem to have a middle button
- Touchscreen works out of the box
Power Management
- (not covered yet)
WiFi
- Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201
- works out of the box
Modem
- (not covered yet)
Disk
- NVMe 1T
works out of the box with a kernel > 5.5
RAM
- DDR4 synchronous 3200 MHz 16G
Optical Devices
- none
