The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware.

Set the administrator password in the BIOS to make Secure Boot configuration become available. Disable Secure Boot.

Power Management

Hibernation untested. Suspend works from GNOME menu, sudo pm-suspend, and lid-close. A of kernel 3.16, upon resume, USB HID devices seem to be placed in a low-power mode: keyboard backlight turns off until a key is pressed, mouse takes a few seconds to "wake up" before it responds. This can be worked around by unplugging and reconnecting these devices after resume.

WiFi

Wifi works after adding non-free repos and running sudo aptitude install firmware-iwlwifi.

Fingerprint Reader

Note: fingerprints are not keys, neither are they secret; you leave them everywhere you touch. Any fingerprint reader is a very weak (but convenient) form of security, so think carefully about the security/convenience trade-offs before using it.

The fingerprint reader is made by Validity Sensors, Inc. and attached to the USB bus internally. I could not make it work with the version of libfprint available in jessie but 138a:0050 is now listed among libfprint supported devices, so it may work on more recent releases.
