DebianOn is an effort to document how to install, configure and use Debian on some specific hardware. Therefore potential buyers would know if that hardware is supported and owners would know how get the best out of that hardware.

The purpose is not to duplicate the Debian Official Documentation, but to document how to install Debian on some specific hardware.

If you need help to get Debian running on your hardware, please have a look at our user support channels where you may find specific channels (mailing list, IRC channel) dedicated to certain types of hardware.

The only thing to be aware of is that WIFI is unavailable until you load the firmware, so installation is done via the LAN.

Configuration

Display

lspci:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: nVidia Corporation NV41 [Quadro FX Go1400] [10de:00cc] (rev a2)

The only thing I needed to do was to load the nVidia drivers to get the 3D stuff working, other than that it worked out the box.

Audio

lspci:

00:1e.2 Multimedia audio controller [0401]: Intel Corporation 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW (ICH6 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller [8086:266e] (rev 03)

Works out the box

Keyboard

The multimedia keys require the .Xmodmap file, see .Xmodmap

Mouse

The trackpad is an ALPS so xorg.conf needs to be changed:

Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad"
    Driver "synaptics"
    Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
    Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"

    #Change the protocol here :
    Option "Protocol" "alps"
    Option "HorizScrollDelta" "0"
    Option "SHMConfig" "on"
EndSection
