irc://irc.debian.org/debian-meeting is an IRC channel meant for IRC-based meetings and training sessions. You can schedule a meeting or organize training sessions for any (Debian-related) topic. This page is used to coordinate the usage of the #debian-meeting channels and schedule sessions, in order to avoid conflicts.

How to schedule a session

It's very simple: you only have to book the channel for your session, providing relevant informations on the table below.

How to schedule a (series of) session(s)

Are you interested in a specific (Debian-related) topic?
Do you want to have periodic meeting of your Debian team, in order to stay focused and advance steadily toward your team goals?
Would you like to present your Debian pet-project to users and developers?
Do you think that it's time to have a deeper look into the latest development tool, packaging technique or internationalization method?

Just organize an IRC session!

To do that you only have to:

  • (for training sessions) contact a guru of that topic, asking her/him to talk about it, for ~ 1 hour on IRC
  • (for team meetings) pick a date and an agenda within the team
  • book #debian-meeting channel for a specific day and time (please, choose an hour which fit most timezones) registering the event on the table below

  • ask for support during the session to channel operators (MadameZou, dondelelcaro, azeem)

  • send invitational mail and announcement (ask for guidance and help in writing and publish them on debian-publicity@lists.debian.org); you could also send a message to Debian identi.ca group

  • join #debian-meeting!
