This portal summarises workflows, requests, thoughts and comments for large scale scientific computing. The page is meant to appeal to users of Debian, Ubuntu and all other Linux distributions used in the field, with the strong ambition to learn from each other. From a BoF at the ISC 2009 in Hamburg it could be learned, that most sites are installing 3+ different distributions, much depending on the machine vendors' support. Consequently, the users and packagers of software should learn about and from each other to allow for some higher degree of inter-distributional experience transfer.
