The unapplied branch format is the most commonly used branch format.
Branch format
The Debian delta is represented as quilt patches in the directory d/patches.
- The tree contains unmodified (pristine) upstream files.
The debian/ directory contains all files present in the uploaded source package.
- There is no particular git history required, so long as it is fast-forwarding.
- The upstream source is either upstream's release tags or tarball imports.
The .dsc format is 3.0 (quilt).
dgit push supports this workflow with --quilt=gbp or --quilt=unapplied.
Common workflow elements
gbp-pq(1) or quilt(1)
