Supertux is a typical Jump 'n' Run game, similar to the commercial game Super Mario on the Nintendo platform. The player has to guide a penguin through 2D sidescrolling worlds, called levels. In each level the player must avoid deadly dangers and fight against jumping snowballs, sliding ice-cubes and many more.

System requirements

  • 20 MB free hard disk space
  • 64 MB RAM
  • 300 MHz Pentium II or AMD Athlon K6

Installation

apt-get install supertux

Controller configuration

You can use the jstest program (joystick) or jstest-gtk (jstest-gtk) to get button mappings for your controller, and then pass them into the command line as such:

supertux --joymap XAXIS:YAXIS:A:B:START

It is necessary to pass them only once, they're saved in Supertux's configuration file ($HOME/.supertux/config).
