Manual Filters Installation

Not all the available filters are packaged up for Debian. If you need one of the filters the following instructions should help a Debian user add them with out making a mess of the installation.

You can find the GIMP Plug-In registry at http://registry.gimp.org/

They have finally realized they need to address security -: "We need to create a completely different, much more secure solution. This is going to take some time, and we'd appreciate your help. Please email to the gimp-web@ mailing list, if you want to help us."

Debian could/should be the security answer they need.

Almost every plugin you download will come as a package - zip, RAR, TAR.GZ, and TAR.BZ2. You need to extract the pluging and put it in

/home/usr/.gimp-2.8/plug-ins
