Notice

This wiki is a new, official [http://www.debian.org Debian] resource. The contents of the now discontinued wiki.debian.net by MichaelIvey are now all converted (MigrationStatus) over to this wiki. Thank you all very much for your patience, and thanks for MichaelIvey for maintaining the previous wiki for so long. --["Jeroen"]

Please note that due to this, a lot of content might not be easily findeable, but still exist. Use the search function before starting a new page!

Debian Wiki

This wiki is a support and documentation resource for the Debian project. This entire wiki is under 'heavy' development. (i.e. it is far from finished).

Older homepage

[?DotNetFrontPage] is the last wiki.debian.net homepage, containing links to various migrated parts of this wiki. Its contents should be included in this FrontPage!

WikiWikiWeb!

This website is a Wiki. A Wiki is a collaborative site, anyone can contribute and share:

Interesting starting points:

To learn more about what a WikiWikiWeb is, read about WhyWikiWorks and the WikiNature. Also, consult the WikiWikiWebFaq. This wiki is powered by MoinMoin.

Why does this wiki exist, who is running it, and why isn't data from wiki.debian.net, which is until now used by the debian developers, migrated here? As far as I know the guy running wiki.debian.net wrote somewhere that he'd be happy to give wiki.debian.net's data away to the debian people... (asks and says HenningSprang)

To the best of my understanding, the problem is that it isn't trivial to migrate kwiki to moin moin -- but if someone comes up with a data.tar.gz or whatever it takes to unpack in wiki.debian.org containing the wiki.debian.net data, I think it isn't a problem to do the migration. Anyway, about who runs the wiki, this wiki is run by DSA, Debian's System Administration. ["Jeroen"]

All you had to do was ask. http://wiki.debian.net/~ivey/debwiki.tgz should work. Let me know if you need anything else. As an aside: even though I have been asking the DSA to take over the Wiki for over a year...it would have been nice if someone had let me know it was happening. -- MichaelIvey (PS: Could someone keep us posted on the MigrationStatus)

I (?DavidRichardBell) am now starting to restructure this wiki and integrate the content from my own resources, and wiki.debian.net

RobertStoffers has his own moin-based wiki at http://www.debianguide.org and is intrested in working together. Thoughts?

I (RobStoffers) have contributed a fair bit of content from my own wiki at ["http://www.debianguide.org"], all of it has been written by me and available under the GPL which is DSFG compatible, please contact me if there are any issues.
