I try to log here stuff done for the meeting:

Today I am preparing a mirror with apt-mirror for some repositories Holger gave me.

Apart from that, I searched a little bit on the linex website, to find out where to download isos, and which gnulinex apt mirrors exist. Some links on stuff I found there - not sure if all is useful and relevant, I don't understand spanish very well:

Here's a formatted apt sources.list file from some FAQ:

(and the xorg stuff added from a system I installed manually)

  • Travel and arrival day... Madrid's airport shows to be very confusing, the food is great and the weather too

  • setting up the network takes some time...
  • Criteria for deciding on a language and framework for the GUI:
    • The language and framework should support a clean coding style and architecture
    • It should be accepted by all people willing to help in developing it
    • It might be interesting, if the code could also be used in FAI itself (e.g., it's duplicated work to have different pieces of code finding out which scripts to be executed for a class at install time and in the FAI GUI - and it's two places to be changed when the structure of the configspace changes)
    • what else?
  • Translated my german FAI presentation to show it here to all people interested in FAI
  • Discussed some details of the FAI GUI with Kugg

  • listening the talk about the merge plan linex, edu, lenny...
  • discuss about some aspects about FAI development
  • visit the local university and talk with some students
  • test ?DebianEdu/HowTo/Debian2DebianEdu - not fully succeeded yet

  • gave a talk about FAI to tell how it works and what it can do
  • got some things about squeak shown from Jose

Things I want to do today from now on:

  • write meeting minutes from yesterday's FAI meeting
  • talk with Kugg about GUI design details -> draw required control elements on paper (Henning Glawe might join, too)

  • further test ?DebianEdu/HowTo/Debian2DebianEdu until succeeded, then go to ?DebianEdu/HowTo/FaiInstallDebianEdu

  • Test FAI trunk on Etch to install Lenny (and eventually test my rhel-config, too)

unlikely that I get there:

  • test grml-live
  • look at crucible
  • setup a testing chroot(s) on faiwiki machine for some distributions, to build iso's/usb stick images, for: Debian stable, testing, unstable, Ubuntu stable, unstable, LTS
