EddyP -- Who's that?
Hello, my name is Eddy Petrisor and I am a Romanian happy Debian user.
After using and learing about the Debian way and feeling satisfied with what's been done by now I decided it is time go further.
Feeling I had to give something back, I joined the DebianInstaller project, at first with translations and with ambitions to take the idea of a ["DebianInstaller/GUI"] and turn it into reality.
Until that, I added a patch to os-prober so that it better detects what Microsoft operating system is installed. You can find the bug at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=275882 . This is my first code addition to the Debian code base .
Others want to help, too (DebianisT is one of them - http://wiki.debian.net/index.cgi?Debianist)
What are you waiting for? Come and join us to make this work...
Recently Martin (Joey) Schultze asked about the status of the graphical installer (http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2004/09/msg01892.html ). This was mentioned in Debian Weekly news (http://www.debian.org/News/weekly/2004/39/ ).
The bad news is that I didn't got to speak with cjwatson (see the news) about me wanting to participating to this project.
I will look for him.
