Branden Robinson is seeking feedback on whether or not to run for Debian Project Leader this year. He is wondering how many people support him running. See http://people.debian.org/~branden/dpl/to_run_or_not_to_run_in_2005.html for details.

This page is a place for people to register support for a Branden campaign. Please use the edit features and list yourself here if you want him to run. Listing yourself doesn't necessarily mean that you intend to vote for him; just that you'd like to see him in the process. Feel free to add brief comments.

John Goerzen

I think Branden's platform lists many serious issues that need fixing with Debian, and others have been unable to fix them. See http://people.debian.org/~branden/dpl/campaign/2004/platform.xhtml for details.

I see in Branden a viable candidate for DPL. I do not really understand why he needs a vote prior to a vote, but I think he should nominate himself. He is certainly an important candidate to consider and will help to raise the bar for the election.

I think that Branden would make an excellent DPL and has shown himself to be extremely dedicated to Debian.

I enthusiastically support Branden's candidacy for DPL 2005. I believe we have seen several years of smooth sailing, but very little progress in organizational and process issues. I believe that Branden will act on the goals articulated in his previous platforms. Once he has said he will accept the nomination, I would be honored to be one of the people who nominate him.

Ditto on that. I have a key, but I'm too lazy to sign this.

I think that Branden should nominate himself too. His platform points out a lot of really important issues that need to be worked on, and I think it's important that he brings those points to the discussion during which everyone will decide who to support.

Having read Branden's position statement from last year, I think that he sounds like a viable candidate for DPL 2005, and ought to run if he feels that he has enough support.

Debian is making progress sure, but is nowhere near its full potential. This is in large measure due to people who are not pulling their weight. We need a DPL who can light a fire under the somnolent and Branden can be counted upon to be that person.

Francesco P. Lovergine

It's time to give Branden the possibility to try to manage the most important aspects of the project life, that are those pointed in his 2004 platform. So, please Braden do it and do the better you can.

Christoph Berg

Some areas of Debian have started moving again, but there are still some where an active DPL could get some things moving again. I am sure Branden will be able to do this. (IANADD yet, still in the last stage of the NM queue.)

Peter Eisentraut

Yeah.

In complete seriousness now, and in search for a mature discussion about the election of the Debian new Project Leader, I want to be counted among the 100 Debian developers required for you to run for DPL.

Since I support both you and your goals, I humbly ask you to run for DPL again.

Branden: I belive you should run for DPL. You always stimulate good debate and highlight the hard issues.

Micah Anderson

I dont know what the big deal is, and maybe I am making a political error in putting my foot here because there must be something I dont know about you for this absurd meta-nomination to be necessary, but your platform seems to be asking valid and pertinant questions and would be a worthy addition to any exercise in meaningless hierarchy reinforcement.

Ean Schuessler

No DPL election would be complete without your yearly effort. If you win you could order yourself to repay the money that SPI owes me. Sweet!
