Update:
As of Feb. 27, Branden has nominated himself. Branden, thank you for being willing to go through this again. We appreciate your commitment to Debian.
To all who made sure we hit 100: Good job, folks. Now...let's get him elected, too!
Success
As of 10 Apr 2005, Branden was elected DPL! This is as good a place as any to congratulate him, so here goes: Congrats, Branden, it's about time! (Paul Cannon)
Branden Robinson is seeking feedback on whether or not to run for Debian Project Leader in 2005. He is wondering how many people support him running. See http://people.debian.org/~branden/dpl/to_run_or_not_to_run_in_2005.html for details.
This page is a place for people to register support for a Branden 2005 campaign. Please use the edit features and list yourself here if you want him to run. Listing yourself doesn't necessarily mean that you intend to vote for him; just that you'd like to see him in the process. Feel free to add brief comments.
Non-specific support
A generic "go for it" or "please run" can easily be taken out of context to support something else. (Indeed, several such notices have been mischievously copied to DraftGergely by somebody. They make as much or little sense there as they do here.)
If you find a message that doesn't specify what it's supporting, please move it to the DraftDPL2005NonSpecific page so that it's more obvious what needs to be fixed (and less tempting to take it out of context).
Don't move messages that were obviously put here to support Branden running, people who signed their messages and said "Go for it Branden!" are people who are specifically supporting Branden running in response to the wiki, moving them to non-specific is about as stupid as stupid can be.
Supporters (who specify what they're supporting)
If you support Branden Robinson's nomination in the 2005 Debian Project Leader election, say so in your message.
With OpenPGP signature
A message with an OpenPGP signature can be checked against that signature to verify that the conent shown was actually signed by that person's key.
While it's best to say in which year's election you support Branden's nomination, an OpenPGP signature timestamp could be (marginally) trusted to mean "this year".

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I certainly haven't agreed with Branden at all points, and I think I still have some burn scars from certain (probably well deserved) flames, but I firmly believe two things that mean his DPL candidacy in 2005 would be beneficial: 1) His platform in past years, and his statements of beliefs in other contexts, are a valid and useful position for a candidate to have - and few other potential candidates have this precise combination, with none of them running. 2) He has integrity and honesty. I believe that if he is elected he will, in fact, stick to his platform; a vote for him is not a vote for the man, but a vote for what he has said (or, in the case of his candidacy for the 2005 DPL election, will say) he will do. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFCFNb/13sEBdj5qMURAkG1AKCi69Z8DkrYR6wfiBxnTtnciBkklgCeJJ84 dIf8E8oHawtSQfSma4JCaOo= =Mag5 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I think Branden's platform lists many serious issues that need fixing with Debian, and others have been unable to fix them. See http://people.debian.org/~branden/dpl/campaign/2004/platform.xhtml for details.
2. Nick Rusnov
I think that Branden would make an excellent DPL and has shown himself to be extremely dedicated to Debian.
3. Dale E. Martin
I think Branden has had a good platform the last two years, and is a viable candidate. I'll "second" his nomination.
4. Alexander Schmehl
Dear Branden, I'm not sure, if I would vote you if I could, but nevertheless I think you should run for DPL.
5. Stephen Stafford
Branden: I belive you should run for DPL. You always stimulate good debate and highlight the hard issues.
6. Duncan Findlay
I support democracy -- the more people that run, the better. Furthermore, I have generally agreed with many of Branden's platform ideas in the past, so I urge him to run again this year.
HI, YOU REMOVED SOME PEOPLE HERE (I'm putting them back)
7. Ean Schuessler
No DPL election would be complete without your yearly effort. If you win you could order yourself to repay the money that SPI owes me. Sweet!
8. Drew Scott Daniels
I'd support Branden running even though I don't agree with some of his platform. I'm not a Debian Developer so I won't count myself. Someone may want to contact the other people listed as supporters that didn't make the signed list at the top of this page.

If you want to encourage Branden Robinson to be a candidate in the 2005 Debian Project Leader election, copy this template and edit it for your name and message.
Include your OpenPGP signed message like this, if you make one; move it to the "With OpenPGP signature" section. Don't forget to say what you're supporting. Please wrap your lines at 65 columns or fewer so that the preformatted sections don't cause people's browsers to render the page with a horizontal scrollbar.
