planet.debian.org policy

Planet Debian maintainers have revamped the Planet Debian policy and linked it from Planet home page. The policy is a recommended reading for all Planet Debian users, be them reader or authors, and covers topics such as who can be on Planet Debian, what can be posted on Planet Debian, as well as technical documentation on how to benefit from various Planet Debian services.

The main change is that webbugs which are not filtered by Planet Debian are frowned upon and can be ground for removal of the feed. Currently only feedburner tracking images are stripped. Any image not hosted by the syndicated blog that is automatically inserted in the feed and that is known to be used for tracking purpose is considered a webbug. If your feed happen to contain webbugs, you are welcome to contribute a supplementary filter to avoid being excluded. Send patches to planet@debian.org.
