Idea
We want to have a mini-debconf with both talks and social events, to which everyone in Debian is invited but the speakers in the talks are all people that identify as female.
This idea would help in several ways:
Encourage women who haven't yet given their first DebConf talk
- Provide role models for women who are interested in contributing
Debunk the myth that there are not enough women who can give talks in DebConf
It is not the idea of the event to talk about women in free software, or women in debian, but rather talk about Debian subjects.
Dates
Currently undefined, but we would like to do it semi-early in 2014 (March or April)
Venue
Please document possible venues as you find them here. It's likely that just getting a couple of rooms lended by a University is enough. We can probably expect between 100 and 150 attendees.
Possibilities:
- Romania
Talks
All talks are welcome, both newbie level and very advanced level. We would probably divide them into tracks.
Proposed talks
If you have one or more talk proposals, please write it here. It doesn't imply a commitment for that talk, but it could give us an idea of what talks could be available.
- Arriero, a tool to maintain, build and upload lots of packages with ease, Margarita Manterola
- Bug triaging and bug closing for non-DDs, Solveig
- The non-uploading DD process, Patty Langasek
- Version Tracking and Stable Release Critical Bug Squashing, Rhonda
- Graphic design with Debian, Siri Reiter
Ideas for talks
These are open ideas of things that might be interesting to present. Feel free to add ideas even if you don't plan to give the talk yourself.

- The Debian Welcoming Team
- Introduction to packaging in Debian
- Doing translations for Debian
BOFs

- Visual design in Debian, Siri Reiter
